Sync-RX vs LoopRX
The short answer
- LoopRX is built around a Shopify storefront, with the workflow running behind it.
- Sync-RX gives you a choice of storefront, signs prescriptions in the platform, can dispense through our partner pharmacy and has NHS clinical data standards built in.
If Shopify is fixed for you and you already have a pharmacy partner, both will do the job and it comes down to fit. If you want flexibility on any of those points, look closely at the table below.
Where the differences are
Storefront choice
LoopRX states that patients order through your Shopify storefront. Sync-RX has its own shop and also connects to Shopify, and other storefronts can be joined through the API. That matters if you outgrow Shopify, run a headless build or sell through more than one front end.
Prescribing and dispensing
Both platforms queue a prescription for the clinician to sign. Sync-RX signs it in the platform with an advanced electronic signature, then sends it to your own dispensary or our partner pharmacy. If you are a brand without a pharmacy, that means one supplier rather than two.
The clinical data layer
Sync-RX works with NHS BSA BNF codes, NHS Digital medicine data in FHIR, emc product information and NHS EPMA standards. That keeps medicines, doses and side effects consistent across the record. LoopRX's site does not say either way, so ask them directly if it matters to you.

FAQ
Are Sync-RX and LoopRX the same kind of product?
Broadly, yes. Both cover assessment, order, clinical review, prescription, fulfilment and reorder in one platform. The differences are in how tied you are to one storefront, how prescribing and dispensing are handled, and how much of the clinical data layer is built in.
Do I need Shopify to use Sync-RX?
No. Sync-RX has its own storefront and also connects to Shopify. Other storefronts and content systems can be joined through the API, outbound webhooks or a connector built with you.
Can Sync-RX dispense for me if I do not have a pharmacy?
Yes. Signed prescriptions can go to our partner pharmacy, with status and tracking coming back to the patient record. You can also use your own dispensary.
How are prescriptions signed in Sync-RX?
Prescribers sign inside the platform with an advanced electronic signature, so there is no export, print or second system involved.
Can I move from LoopRX to Sync-RX?
Yes. Patients, orders, subscriptions and history can be moved across. The migration page explains what transfers and how the switch runs without a gap in service.
